Our evolutionary pathway together with our busy technology intensive modern day lives is believed to be major cause of chronic stress. Stress takes a physical and mental toll on our bodies resulting in anxiety, depression, behavioural change, dimished immune system function and a range of non-communicable diseases that plague our society.
What’s the solution
A strong evidence base has been building up in the international literature over the last few decades regarding the human health and well-being benefits. We now understand not only that the effects of nature on our bodies are real but also how these effects occur, the physiological and psychology benefits, the types of exposures and duration needed and how we can seek these benefits.
